i’m quite new here, so first of all „Hello!, my name is Paul and i want to configure an otobo ubuntu server through apache 2“
So here is my problem…at first i configured my apache webserver – all good – until on the index page i got the failure „otobo@localhost failed to login using password „YES“ “ so i googled this thing and came to the mastermind conclusion that i need to reinstall my mysql server. So now it got really funny.. as i reinstalled the mysql server i got an Internal Server Error my apache log means this
i recreated the database exactly the same like it was before because i read the installation guide and used the same password as before.
I don’t know why you installed your database again, cause I’m sure that’s not the solution (did you execute https://yourFQDN/otobo/installer.pl as described in the install tutorial?).
After installing the MySQL server you need configure it.
In MySQL higher or equal version 5.7 a new authentication module is active, and it is not possible to use the OTOBO web installer for database creation. Please login to the mysql console and set a different authentication module and password for the user root if this is the case.
…
Please change the authentication module and restart the installer.pl
One more note, basically I would recommend the installation via Docker as described here. Takes only a few minutes and then the entire system is perfectly configured available.
