Perl developer / Fullstack

"We love what we do.
We really live Open Source.
We join forces for a greater goal.
We work from the city, the farm, our patio, the pond.
We don't take ourselves too seriously.
We love to eat & laugh together.
And when it really matters we rock the thing!"

Looking for

Perl developers / Fullstack

To reinforce our team, we are looking for a full stack developer to start as soon as possible.
Working location: At our office close to Straubing (South Germany) and/or in the home office.

Our fork based on ((OTRS)) Community Edition is flying high, so we are looking for new colleagues to help us build and enhance the system further, and foster a lively community. Are you gonna rock with us?

Your tasks

  • As part of our team and the international community, you will make a significant contribution to the further development of OTOBO.

  • We are growing and need support in all areas. Therefore you will – at least initially – work on the backend (Perl) and frontend (JavaScript/ jQuery, HTML, CSS). In the long term you can find your niche.

  • Depending on what's on and on your interest, you design and code new standard functions or customer-specific feature add-ons, take care of implementing new functionalities in the frontend, coordinate community contributions or take care of testing.

  • If you are interested, you can occasionally take part in on-site meetings and workshops with our customers in the DACH region to introduce and plan new projects.

Your profile

  • You are an open-source enthusiast with an IT degree or comparable work experience.

  • You have good knowledge of Perl programming or other scripting languages (e.g. PHP) and find it easy to familiarize yourself with new topics. Important for the frontend: JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5 and CSS.

  • You work in a structured and goal-oriented manner and keep the big picture in mind.

  • You can work well independently, but you also like to exchange ideas - with the team, with developers from the community and with our partners.

What's awaiting you

  • An enjoyable working enviroment

A familiar, fun team, an opensource project we totally stand for and customers who higly appreciate what we do.

  • Varied and exciting tasks

Highly versatile tasks and the opportunity to play a decisive role in the further development of the OS project and to realize your ideas

  • Flexibility and great future perspectives

in an owner-managed company with a great deal of freedom for individualisation in terms of working hours and location. Whether in our offices at the farm, at the pond, from home or aborad – as long as communication works, we are open to everything.

  • Optimal conditions

Modern equiment, a positive mood, in the office: best coffee, swimming pond and peacocks in front of the window

About us
